I enjoy playing with poetry. I’ve been encouraged in my writing since I was a child…writing letters to my dad when he was overseas during the Vietnam war, researching articles for the school paper in elementary and high school, dabbling with poetry for friends and special occasions. Today, poems come to me when I sit in stillness, listening to what’s happening inside, appreciating my life’s blessings, or observing nature. Sometimes, too, I have fun creating a piece from an writing prompt found a workbook or online.
Here I have curated a collection of poems that are filled with joy, and sometimes silliness. They reflect the voice inside and are about relationships. I also love photography so many of the pieces are pared with one of my photos.
May you find yourself connecting with the many shapes of joy.
